Frequently Asked Questions
What is Coaching?
Coaching is a method that enables you as my client - with the help of different techniques and questions - to enunciate and reach your visions and goals. As your professional coach with a systemic, holistic approach I support you to allow your obsticles to take up the space they call for, in order to re-organize themselves anew in a more balanced form into your system. “What’s in the way, is the way” (Guthrie Sayen). In doing so, visceral changes will be set in motion that often lead to unexpected solutions.
Why Coaching... ?
... in order to align your life with what is really important to you.
... in order to bring momentum into a stuck relationship or situation.
... in order to connect with and feel happy inside your own body.
... as parents, in order to still feel as a couple, not just as mother/father.
... in order to get support in difficult phases of parenting.
... in order to make a professional change.
... in order to find more fulfillment in your current job and to align it with your values.
Is coaching therapy?
No, coaching is not therapy. You will find that coaching focuses on the present time as well as on the future; it does not focus as much on the past as most therapy methods. It offers strategic planning for personal growth and does not attempt to heal emotional trauma. However, the effect of coaching can be therapeutic. Coaches regularly refer clients to other professionals for issues that are better suited to a therapeutic relationship.
What is a typical session like?
The most important driving force for successful coaching is self-responsibility. The client sets the agenda for the call and the coach follows this agenda. This means, as my client, you will come with a topic or issue you want coaching on for each session. You can expect powerful and clarifying questions, planning tools, the development of goals and action steps to reach these goals, and accountability. As your coach, I’ll have high expectations of you and support you thoroughly. Mostly, you will get an “assignment” or a challenge at the end of a session and I will ask you for feedback to fine-tune my approach for you.
